This Privacy Policy explains how Bola Aladegbami, M.D., PLLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit bolaaladegbami.com (the “Site”), contact us through the Site, or inquire about surgical care or consulting services.

1. This Site and HIPAA
Dr. Aladegbami provides surgical care in affiliation with Baylor Scott & White Health. Protected health information created or maintained in the course of your clinical care is governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and by the Notice of Privacy Practices of the facility or practice that treats you — not by this Policy.
This Site is an informational and marketing website. Information you voluntarily submit through the Site — such as your name, phone number, and a general message — is generally not part of your medical record and is not covered by HIPAA unless and until it is incorporated into your care by the treating practice. This Policy describes how we handle information collected through the Site itself. Where information you send us does become part of your treatment record, the applicable HIPAA notice governs it.
2. Information we collect

- Contact form submissions: your name, phone number, email address, the service you selected (for example, hernia repair or general consultation), and the contents of your message.
- Email, phone, and mail: any information you include when you contact us directly at info@bolaaladegbami.com or by telephone.
- Consulting and professional inquiries: your name, employer or firm, role, contact details, and a description of the matter, when you inquire about legal, medical, or healthcare consulting services.
- Blog comments or other submissions, if comment functionality is enabled, including the name and email address you supply.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, referring page, pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, and approximate location derived from IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files and identifiers placed on your device to keep the Site functioning, remember preferences, and measure traffic. See Section 4.
- Server logs and security data generated by our hosting provider, including records of requests made to the Site and activity flagged as suspicious by security or spam-filtering tools.
Information from third parties
We may receive information from analytics providers, our hosting and email vendors, and platforms where we maintain a presence (for example, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, or health-directory listings) — including aggregate performance data and any reviews or messages you post there.
What we do not knowingly collect
We do not ask for Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, insurance identification numbers, or clinical records through the Site. Please do not send them.

We use the information described above to:
- respond to your inquiry and, where appropriate, direct you to scheduling through Baylor Scott & White Health;
- contact you by phone, text, or email about the request you submitted;
- evaluate and respond to consulting, speaking, media, or professional inquiries;
- operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site, including diagnosing technical problems and preventing spam, fraud, and abuse;
- understand which pages and topics are useful to visitors so we can improve our patient education content;
- send informational or practice updates where you have asked to receive them, subject to your right to unsubscribe at any time; and
- comply with legal, regulatory, professional, and recordkeeping obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not use information collected through this Site to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
4. Cookies, analytics, and tracking technologies
The Site is built on WordPress and uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary: page delivery, security, spam prevention, and load balancing.
- Preferences: remembering settings such as your display choices or previously entered form details.
- Analytics: understanding aggregate traffic patterns, such as which pages are visited and how visitors arrive at the Site. This may include Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Embedded content: pages that embed a Google Map or fonts hosted by Google may set cookies or log requests from your browser under those providers’ own policies.
We do not use advertising pixels or tracking technologies to disclose health-related information about identifiable visitors to advertisers, and we do not sell your personal data.

Our Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Where required by applicable law, we honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers: vendors who host the Site, deliver email, provide form and spam-filtering services, provide analytics, or support our practice operations — each permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.
- Our clinical and administrative team: staff and affiliated personnel who need the information to respond to your request or coordinate scheduling.
- Professional advisors: attorneys, accountants, and insurers, where reasonably necessary.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, court order, or regulatory authority; to enforce our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.
- Business transitions: in connection with a merger, reorganization, sale of practice assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
6. Third-party sites and services
The Site links to and embeds content from third parties we do not control, including Baylor Scott & White Health scheduling pages, Google Maps, LinkedIn, and external publications. Once you leave this Site or interact with embedded content, the third party’s own privacy policy and terms apply. We encourage you to read them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those parties.
7. Data retention
We keep contact form submissions and correspondence for as long as needed to respond to your request and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping, quality, and legal purposes, and then delete or de-identify them. Server logs and analytics data are retained on a shorter, rolling basis according to our providers’ default retention settings. Information that becomes part of a medical record is retained under the record-retention rules that apply to that record, not this Policy.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information collected through the Site, including transport encryption (HTTPS), access controls, and vendor selection. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Communications sent by ordinary email or through a web form may be intercepted — which is why we ask you not to send sensitive health information through the Site.
9. Your privacy rights
Texas residents
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas residents may request to:
- confirm whether we process your personal data and access that data;
- correct inaccuracies in your personal data;
- delete personal data you provided or that we obtained about you;
- obtain a portable copy of data you provided to us, where technically feasible; and
- opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. As described above, we do not engage in these activities through the Site.
To exercise these rights, contact us using Section 12. We will respond within 45 days, subject to one 45-day extension where reasonably necessary, and we may need to verify your identity before acting. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response; if the appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
Residents of other states
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have comparable rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Contact us and we will honor requests to the extent the applicable law requires.
Visitors from outside the United States
The Site is operated in the United States and directed to patients and clients in Texas and the surrounding region. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Marketing choices
If you receive informational emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in the message or by contacting us. We will still send transactional messages that respond to your inquiry.
10. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information through the Site, contact us and we will delete it. Where a parent or guardian contacts us about a minor patient, that communication is handled as part of the clinical relationship rather than through the Site.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or the law. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be identified in the notice at the top of the page. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
